Nestled in the rolling countryside on the Wiltshire-Dorset border, you’ll find the absolutely gem that is Lower Lawn Barns. These beautifully restored 19th century farm buildings set around a courtyard are home to Clementine’s Shop, Compton Marbling, Clem’s Fairs, and between 30 April to 12 July 2019, Teak Unique!
Clementine’s lifestyle shop is a treasure trove of original products, all personally handpicked by Clementine. It’s a joy to wander through and discover unique gifts for any occasion and all ages, plus stylish home furnishings. A selection of products can also be found online. Open: Tuesday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm
Across the courtyard, Clementine’s mother, Solveig Stone, makes timeless hand-marbled papers and products in her studio. Solveig founded Compton Marbling in the early 1970s, and continues to make each item individually, by hand, using traditional methods. Compton Marbling’s product range is sold on their website, and also in the recently opened Compton Marbling Shop next to Clementine’s Shop. Opening times as above
Clementine has an amazing eye for spotting lovely things, and is a great supporter of local brands and small businesses, often spreading the love on Instagram – she’s definitely worth following for inspiration. She brings many of these fantastic brands together at the ever-popular Clem’s Fairs in the Spring, Autumn, and Winter. Teak Unique will be back at the Spring Fair on 26th-27th April 10am-5pm, and this year we’re delighted to be joined by Amelfi bespoke outdoor cushions.
Teak Unique was actually established just 10 miles away from Lower Lawn Barns 12 years ago. We’ve been attending Clem’s Fairs (originally Compton Marbling Fairs) since then, and have many loyal customers in the area. So we’re delighted to be invited back for another Teak Unique Spring/Summer Pop Up featuring a selection of our teak outdoor furniture next to Clementine’s Shop from 30 April to 12 July 2019. It feels like coming home!
If you’re in the area, it’s well worth visiting Clementine’s Shop, the Compton Marbling Shop, and any of Clem’s Fairs. Lower Lawn Barns is an absolute delight to visit and browse many beautiful products, thanks to an extremely talented and creative family (Clementine’s father, Humphrey Stone is a typographic designer!) Anyway, you won’t be disappointed (and probably won’t leave empty handed!)
