March heralds the start of Spring, when everything starts to grow and thoughts turn to gardening and what to plant. So what better way to bring instant cheer to a terrace or by garden doors than with a beautiful teak planter adorned with vibrant Spring colours.
Vicky of Luscious Flowers has kindly shared some of her planting tips with us:
“Start with some brightly coloured primulas – there are hundreds of varieties to choose from in various hues and, closely planted, they will give a splash of colour for weeks. They can be interspersed with miniature daffodils such as the early flowering February Gold or Tete a Tete which are widely available already planted up in garden centres.
Or, for subtlety go for the old fashioned faces of nodding pansies – a constant favourite – and, if regularly deadheaded, will last well in to summer.
Create or add to a miniature kitchen garden with a herbal mix of rosemary, sage and mint for an instant, flavourful addition to culinary creations.
If a no maintenance approach is preferred then one architectural plant such as a clipped bay or olive tree will show off the elegance of teak planters.
The options are endless but then so is the enjoyment!”
And, with Mother’s Day fast approaching, Teakunique’s Pick for March – the classic square teak planter – has to be the perfect gift, especially if received pre-planted with her favourite flowers or herbs.
